Condolences
Dave: I don't think I ever had the privilege of meeting your Dad, but I know he had to be one heck of a guy because of his compassion for animals! I'm truly sorry for your loss. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers!
Dave and Becky,
I am so sorry for your loss. Alvin was a kind person who always stopped to talk when I saw him at the Dairy. He will be missed by many. God bless.
As a child, I never got to stay in Carlinville as long or often as I wanted to. My visits were always fun & memorable. Being an only child it was so fabulous to belong to such an extended family of Grandparents, Aunts & Uncles as well as cousins. But one Uncle stood out from the rest. In those days he wasn't a Dad yet but it was obvious he wanted to be. He was a hard working guy who still always had time for his nieces & nephews, loved animals, & definitely knew how to have fun in any situation. One of my most favorite memories of those times was when Uncle Alvin took cousin Sandy & me on his milk route in the big tanker truck. Up with the sun, pie for breakfast & lots of laughs. Some of the best times that become more treasured with age. In more recent years when I returned after a 40 year absence I still felt the connection forged so long ago. With love, Cheryl
We are so very sorry to hear about your loss. Praying for your strength now and in the days ahead.

david & becky boy i have very good thoughts of growing up on the dairy. and seeing your dad and his truck. to pick up the milk.and how he always had time to talk. . about almost anything. as MR Armour said he took pride in the dairy farmer, and having gum to hand out too ? you can know your parents are back together. and watching down over you two.. no more pain. either for him. prayers to you 2 too.
Gary & Cindy, Sorry for the loss of your brother. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
My memories of your dad go back as far as I do. Alvin always had a piece of Juicy Fruit gum for a kid in the barn and we loved him for it. He's in a better place now, hopefully perched on the back of a horse with a pocket full of Red Man.
Becky and David,
Deepest sympathies to you both. Soooo many fond memories growing up with you guys and of course Alvin and Stella. Alvin was a true gentleman in every sense. Stong enough to bend steel with his bare hands yet gentle enough to care for any fragile creature. Your folks have each other once again in eternal peace. I pray you both find some measure of comfort in your fond memories of your dad. Alvin will be missed by many.
