Wanda June (Bormida) McKenzie
83, of Standard City passed away Wednesday morning, October 16, 2013 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL.
Wanda was born on June 12, 1930, a daughter to Mae Muhlenbruch in Atwater, IL. In 1949 Wanda married John Bormida Jr. and he preceded her in death on June 9, 1974. She later married Eugene "Gene" McKenzie on September 8, 1978 in Springfield and he survives.
Wanda retired in 1979 from the State of Illinois after 22 years in the accounting department. She was a member of the Carlinville American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, the Springfield Elks Ladies Auxiliary and the Elks Women's Emblem Club in Hot Springs, AR. Wanda enjoyed playing bingo, cards and shuffle board with family and friends, as well as cooking and canning from her garden.
Wanda is survived by her husband, Gene McKenzie; 2 sons, Jerry Bormida and Steve (Cathy) Bormida both of Standard City; daughter, Mary Morrow of Standard City; 2 step daughters, Carol (Jeff) Waldmire of Jacksonville, IL and Diane (Rod) Jones of Chatham, IL; step son, Dennis (Cathy) McKenzie of Glenarm, IL; 3 grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 5 step great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Wanda is also preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Borman and a brother, Bob Clark. Funeral Information
Visitation will be held Saturday morning, October 19, 2013 from 9:00 to 11:00 am at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville with funeral services following at 11:00 at the funeral home with Rev. Victor Angulo officiating.
Burial will take place in the Virden Cemetery. Donations Information
