Jennie L. Crawford
88, of Girard, passed away on Thursday June 6, 2013 at her residence.
Jennie was born on August 20, 1924 to Robert and Berenice (Bitter) Bruce on a small farm in Macoupin County. Jennie graduated from Farmersville High School in Farmersville with the class of 1942. On December 12, 1942 she married A.P. Crawford in Litchfield, IL and they just celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on 12-12-2012.
She was a member of the Pleasant Dale Baptist Church in Girard, IL and enjoyed reading and quilting camping and fishing.
Jennie is survived by her loving husband of 70 years A.P. Crawford, 3 daughters - Betty L. Reily(Jack) of Highland Village, TX, Beverly Gray (Morris) of Girard, IL, Brenda Solomon (Brian) of Modesto, IL; 4 sons - Larry Crawford (Connie) of Girard, IL, David Crawford (Linda) of Girard, IL, Donald Crawford(Jill) of Girard, IL, Stanley Crawford (Shay) of Girard, IL; 3 brothers - Bob Bruce of Reno, IL, Dale Bruce (Linda) of Virden, IL, and Maurice Bruce (Elizabeth) of Staunton, IL,17 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents as well as a brother John Bruce and an infant son Bruce Paul . Funeral Information
Visitation will be held Sunday, June 09, 2013 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Girard, IL
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 10, 2013, 10:00 am at the First Christian Church, Girard, IL, with Rich McElfresh officiating.
Burial will take place in the Union Chapel Cemetery, rural Girard. Donations Information
